The star has given the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to preserve the United Kingdom's small music venues.
Fender was presented with the award on 16 October as his new release People Watching was declared the outstanding release of the previous year.
Fender has opted to donate the funds to the Music Venues Trust, in acknowledgment of the vital role small stages had in his initial steps.
"I would not have achieved my current career if it hadn't been for all the shows I played around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," stated Sam Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are struggling."
From early 2023 onward, over 150 of these locations have ceased operations – roughly 16% of the entire UK sector.
Over the past year, major artists such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a modest fee to their admission fees, which benefits smaller concert halls.
He also took part, generating in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to assist numerous grassroots venues across Britain.
The money supported locations that were dealing with potential shutdown due to challenges caused by flooding, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as permit problems, conflicts and sound issues.
Some locations were granted financial assistance in upgrading facilities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted musicians and audiences.
"The idea that revenue from performances in big venues helps the smaller venues, where it begins for artists like me, is just common sense," Fender has commented.
Fender is among several artists to give his honor prize money to worthy causes.
When they received the award in the mid-90s for their record Different Class, frontman Cocker announced that the band would donate their cash to the organization War Child.
During 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite shared her prize among several organizations, including the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"Additionally, I contributed a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was younger and they required better apparatus," Ms Dynamite told the media.
Two years ago, they donated their prize money to the community center that supported their act, as well as other local music groups.
Also the 1994 recipients the group contributed their award to a charity for MS after a friend was identified with the condition.
"Winning was quite enough," stated vocalist the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we didn't need the extra, because we had the honor. So our winning touched another person's life."
Recently, the trust revealed it had saved two small stages in that region, by placing them under local control.
The Joiners in the city and the other in that location were purchased under the community ownership scheme, which is backed by the arts council and supporters who purchase "shares" in the buildings.
